IDPS New Vision Launch 2022-2024

IDPS launched its new vision for 2022-2024, marking the beginning of a new phase for the platform. The launch was hosted by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), which has assumed the Secretariat of the Dialogue until 2024, and brought together the IDPS constituency along with key peacebuilding and statebuilding partners.

Speakers included George Conway (Deputy Director, Crisis Bureau UNDP), Geoffrey Dean (Director, Conflict Prevention, Stabilisation and Peacebuilding, Global Affairs Canada) Helder Da Costa (General Secretary, g7+ Secretariat), Eliska Jelinkova (Co-Director, UNOY), Fredrik Matthys (Head of Division, Global Policies and Partnerships, OECD), Awa Dabo (Director and Deputy Head, Peacebuilding Support Office, United Nations Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs ), Henrik Hammargren (Dag Hammerskjold Foundation), Samuel Rizk (Head of Conflict Prevention, Peacebuilding and Responsive Institutions and Host of IDPS Secretariat, UNDP), and Abie Elizabeth Kamara (Director, Development Assistance Coordination Office, Ministry of Planning and Economic Development of Sierra Leone)  .

The speakers reflected on the achievements and challenges of international engagement on peacebuilding and statebuilding in states affected by conflict and fragility, important considerations for IDPS as it embarks on its new phase, the potential role and contributions that IDPS can make in programming and policy engagement, and potential partnerships that can catalyze the impact and reach of IDPS.
