IDPS Inputs to the New Agenda for Peace

The IDPS Secretariat organized a virtual consultation bringing together IDPS representatives and the New Agenda for Peace penholders, UN Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs, Department of Peacekeeping Operations, Office of Disarmament Affairs, and Office of Counter Terrorism to distill IDPS’ inputs to the New Agenda for Peace. The consultation focused on whether existing mechanisms for prevention and peacebuilding are fit for purpose to address emerging challenges, how to ensure that the existing model for multilateral engagement is responsive to needs in fragile and conflict-affected contexts, and how can the New Agenda for Peace contribute to more effective, inclusive, holistic, and impactful engagement on the ground
