Minister Kargbo: New Co-Chair of the International Dialogue

Following a cabinet reshuffle, Mr Momodu L. Kargbo has taken over from Dr Kaifala Marah as the new Minister of Finance and Economic Development in Sierra Leone, thereby succeeding Dr Marah as Co-Chair of the International Dialogue on Peacebuilding and Statebuilding and as Chair of the g7+.

HE Kargbo.JPG  Minister Kargbo will bring a wealth of experience to the International Dialogue and the g7+, having previously served as Minister of State, and in the Ministry of Finance as Deputy Minister. Such experience will be crucial to taking forward the work of the International Dialogue and the g7+, especially in this new era of SDG implementation.

Having been appointed in 2014, the outgoing Minister, Dr. Marah, co-chaired the International Dialogue through many successes, most notably the inclusion of Goal 16 in the SDGs and the adoption of the Stockholm Declaration. Dr Marah has been appointed as Governor of the Bank of Sierra Leone, and is eager to continue supporting the International Dialogue and g7+ where necessary.
