The International Dialogue will host a cocktail reception to launch its recently published brochure on International Standards for Responsible Business in Conflict-Affected and Fragile Environments. Aurelien Tobie joined the International Dialogue Secretariat on 7 September as a Policy Adviser. Aurelien brings a wealth of experience to the International Dialogue, having worked as a reconciliation adviser at the European Union delegation in Mali, the DFID in the U.K., International Alert in the DRC, among others. At the International Dialogue Secretariat, he will be supporting country-level implementation of the New Deal, and will be working closely with the Implementation Working Group.
The Independent Review of the New Deal/International Dialogue is underway. By the end of August, it is envisaged that the country level studies will have begun. We also envisage that emerging observations will feed into an IDPS side event at the UNGA in September. A zero draft report of the Independent Review will be presented at the Steering Group meeting on 4 November 2015, and at a planned workshop to discuss the results on the morning of 5 November. All of this will feed into our discussions leading to the Ministerial in 2016.
