Minister Christian Friis Bach, co-Chair of the International Dialogue on Peacebuilding and Statebuilding, and Mr. Helder da Costa, representing Minister Emilia Pires, co-Chair of the International Dialogue and Chair of the g7+ attended the “New Deal for Somalia” conference in Brussels on 16 September 2013. They welcomed progress in Somalia, the use of the New Deal as a guiding framework for a country-led and country-owned transition, and the adoption of a compact as a key vehicle for partnership and to support a successful transition.
